The State Electricity Company (PLN) reaffirm that electricity supply during the voting and vote counting of the 2024 General Election is sufficient and ready. “We have anticipated this moment as the campaign, voting, and vote counting moment as the moments where we need the electricity the most,” says PLN Distribution Director Adi Priyanto quoted from Antaranews on Friday (2/2/2024). On that occasion, Andi has instructed all PLN officers across the country to prepare for the upcoming election. He also asked related stakeholder such as the General Election Commission (KPU), Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), to regional election organizers to maintain close communication with PLN. Furthermore, his party estimated that on the voting and vote counting day, there would be an increase in electricity usage from 10 to 30 percent. “For example, during the vote counting, they may use an office that have long been abandoned and it would definitely increase the electricity usage percentage, and we have anticipated this,” explained Andi.
