inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The escape of Erick Soedjasa, a suspect in an alleged embezzlement case at PT Asli Rancangan Indonesia (ASLI RI), has finally been over. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency arrested Erick after he arrived from Singapore at Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, on Friday (9/11/2026).
The Director of Special Economic Crimes of INP, Brigadier General Ade Safri Simanjuntak, stated that Erick's arrest involved several parties, including the Sidoarjo Sub-regional City Police, the INP International Relations Division, and immigration officers.
The suspect was arrested after arriving from Singapore. Previously, Erick was known to have fled to that country while the investigation into the case against him was still ongoing.
The case stemmed from a report of alleged fraud in office filed in 2022. In this case, Erick is said to have acted as a party seeking resellers to assist with marketing for PT Asli Rancangan Indonesia.
Erick then collaborated with the Operational Director of PT Asli Rancangan Indonesia, Rionald Anggara Soerjanto. He introduced Michael WW Cheung to Rionald to become a reseller.
However, in practice, the reseller allegedly failed to carry out his marketing duties properly and still received fees. Part of these fees allegedly went to Rionald.
"Erick is suspected of playing a role in bringing Michael and Rionald together, arranging a fee-sharing agreement, and receiving funds from Michael and Rionald," said Safri.
Michael was known to have received fees from 19 customers. Of these, six were not the result of Michael's marketing efforts. The total fees received reached IDR 10,381,204,140.
According to the agreement, the fee was divided 50 percent for Rionald, 25 percent for Erick, and 25 percent for Michael.
As the investigation progressed, Erick was found to have received funds from Michael WW Cheung and Rionald totaling IDR 4,621,604,368.
Investigators then named Erick a suspect based on the case review on November 14, 2023. However, while the investigation was still ongoing, Erick fled to Singapore, preventing investigators from questioning him.
The INP Criminal Investigation Agency subsequently issued a wanted list (DPO) for Erick Soedjasa. Investigators also coordinated with the INP's International Transportation Division until Interpol issued a Red Notice on February 2, 2024.
During the search, the INP's International Transportation Division coordinated with Singaporean authorities and the Indonesian Police Attaché in Singapore to monitor Erick's whereabouts and movements.
These efforts ultimately paid off. Police successfully arrested Erick upon his return to Indonesia via Juanda International Airport.
In addition to Erick, six other suspects were named in the case: Rionald Anggara Soerjanto, Operations Director of PT Asli Rancangan Indonesia; Tedjo Suprayogi Liman; Alim Sutamto Wibowo; Franciscus Januae Halim; Freddy Wijaya; and Michael WW Cheung.
All six suspects have undergone legal proceedings and have been sentenced to prison.
