inp.polri.go.id - Lampung. The BOP Team from Sub-Directorate 1 of the Special Economic Crimes Unit of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency, along with the Special Economic Crimes Unit of the Mesuji Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the Head of the Tulang Bawang Regency Logistics Agency (Bulog), and the Head of the Food Availability, Distribution, and Reserves Division of Mesuji Regency, conducted monitoring and direct inspections of the prices and availability of staple foods, particularly rice, in Mesuji Regency on Thursday (9/10/2026).
This activity focused on several strategic locations, including Simpang Pematang Market and Brabasan Market, as well as a direct inspection of rice fields in Sungai Badak Village to monitor the condition and yield of the rice harvest.
Mesuji Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Muhammad Firdaus, explained that during the market inspections, the team reviewed rice stock availability, price variations at the retail and wholesale levels, and ensured there were no hoarding or price manipulation practices that could harm the public.
Meanwhile, in Sungai Badak Village, the team monitored rice mills and rice plant growth, harvest yields, and the availability of rice supplies at the farmer level to ensure a smooth food supply chain to the market.
Firdaus further explained that these activities were carried out to maintain the stability of staple food prices, ensure sufficient supplies throughout Mesuji Regency, and anticipate potential violations of food and trade laws that could harm the public interest.
"We hope that this direct monitoring will ensure controlled and affordable rice prices, secure and smooth food supplies, and create order and legal certainty in food trade in Mesuji Regency," he concluded.
