Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have arrested a United Arab Emirates (UAE) citizen for allegedly causing a disturbance at a hotel in Kalibata, South Jakarta, on Sunday.
“He is a male, a UAE citizen, initial B, who arrived at the hotel by online taxi,” said South Jakarta Police Head of Public Relations Senior Inspector Murodih on Tuesday (12/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The incident occurred around 2.30 pm, when a hotel porter helped carry the Emirati man’s belongings to the lobby. He reportedly noticed his bag was open and claimed money was missing. He accused the porter of theft, which the porter denied.
He then became aggressive, harming himself. Hotel staff attempted to calm him before calling police and medical personnel. Officers detained him and later handed him over to South Jakarta Immigration.
Police are investigating the alleged missing money and the motive. The Emirati man may face deportation under the Immigration Law for dangerous or unlawful conduct.
