He praised President Infantino's role in the ongoing transformation of Indonesian football, which led to Indonesia hosting the 2023 U-17 World Cup, according to antaranews.com.
Chairman Erick highlighted recent achievements, including the U-23 team reaching the semifinals of the 2024 AFC U-23 Championship and the senior team advancing to the second round of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup and the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
He thanked Infantino for his continuous support of Indonesian football, which was responded to by President Infantino that under Chairman Erick’s leadership, Indonesian football will continue to grow and unite the nation.
Despite these advancements, the Indonesian U-23 team did not qualify for the Paris Olympics, losing 0-1 to Guinea in the intercontinental playoff in May.
