The request was made by the Muhammadiyah’s Legal Aid and Public Advocacy Institute (LBH AP PP Muhammadiyah), which submitted a letter to the INP Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, asking for the exhumation and autopsy of Afif Maulana. The LBH AP PP Muhammadiyah, authorized by Afif's family, has coordinated with LBH Padang and the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) according to antaranews.com.
LBH AP PP Muhammadiyah’s research and public advocacy chair, Gufroni, hoped for a transparent process involving external forensic experts. The organization is prepared to provide forensic specialists if needed.
