inp.polri.go.id - West Sumatra. The exhumation of AM (13) was carried out on August 8th, 2024. The step was for the investigation following the allegations of abuse on the victim.

Exhumation was performed at 08.00 am by the Association of Indonesian Forensic Doctor and Medicolegal (PDFMI). The West Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Suharyono directly oversee the exhumation process with the family of AM, accompanied by the parties from Padang Legal Aid Office, Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK), Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), National Police Commission, and National Human Rights Commission.

“We are grateful that the first step of this exhumation process has gone smoothly according to our plan,” said the West Sumatra Regional Police Chief on Thursday (8/8/2024).

He explains that in this exhumation process, there are no members of the police medical unit involved.

“We will let the expert do it because the ones who do the exhumation are all professional doctors. We affirm that none of our members were involved in this exhumation process,” Suharyono says.

Suharyono continues that police have examined 48 witnesses and the investigation still continues.
