inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the Inter-University Transportation Study Forum, Andyka Kusuma appreciated the performance of the Indonesian National Police (INP), especially the Traffic Corps, in managing public movement during the 2024 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

According to him, the Police's efforts have succeeded in reducing the number of traffic accidents compared to the previous year, although there are still several challenges that need to be of concern to all.

Andyka stressed that road safety should be a concern for all parties. He encouraged various steps to improve safety, both before and during the trip and noted the presence of the state through various agencies is very important to ensure that people feel safe when using transportation, whether by land, sea or air.

"Road safety is a shared responsibility, not only of the Police, but also other ministries and institutions, such as the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works, and other related agencies, including the health sector and Jasa Raharja. All parties must work together to continue to reduce the number of accident fatalities," he explained.

As part of the National Safety Action Plan, Andyka is pushing for the development of better safety systems and integration between stakeholders to create safer roads.

Andyka also invited the entire community to play a role in creating a safe journey, both through compliance with traffic rules and readiness before traveling. Safety, according to him, is a shared responsibility that requires collaboration between the government, the community, and the business world.
