Failed West Kalimantan PLTU 1 Construction Work Cost the State Up to IDR 1.3 Trillion

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Anti-Corruption Corps stated the West Kalimantan PLTU 1 construction case is a total loss. The statement came due to the stalled construction until now.

"As a result, the construction has stalled until now and has been declared a total loss by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK)," said the Head of INP Anti-Corruption Corps, Inspector General Cahyono Wibowo in a press conference, Monday (10/6/2025).

According to him, the total state financial loss is worth USD 62,410,523 or IDR 1.3 trillion.

In this case, the investigative team has named the President Director of PLN 2008-2019 Fahmi Mochtar, the President Director of PT BRN Halim Kalla, RR, and HYL as suspects. Cahyono stated that currently the suspects' assets are being traced.

The suspects are being charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law No. 31/1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law 20/2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Criminal Code.
