Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s men’s doubles pair Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri failed to capture the Korea Open 2025 title after committing frequent unforced errors in the final.
“Kim and Seo’s defense was incredibly solid, very tight, and hard to break. I also made mistakes in crucial points. This remains homework for us to improve,” Fajar said in a statement on Sunday (28/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Indonesian duo lost 16-21, 21-23 to home favorites Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae at Suwon Gymnasium, despite holding a game point at 20-19 in the second game.
Fajar acknowledged Kim/Seo as the world’s best men’s doubles today, noting their consistency and recent major victories at the All England and World Championships. Fikri added that stamina and consistency must be improved after four consecutive tournaments.
Indonesia left Suwon with only one title from the BWF Super 500 tournament, through Jonatan Christie’s men’s singles triumph over Anders Antonsen.
