In his lecture themed Moral Education Towards the Golden Generation 2045, Abdul Mu'ti said that fasting as an Islamic law aims to guide humans to find happiness in life while also building noble characteristics.

"Fasting is not just a ritual but part of the means and process of education so that we become servants of Allah who have good morals," said Abdul Mu’ti on Monday (3/3/2025).

He explained that the current next generation is what the nation's founders aspired to. This ideal is constitutionally stated in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution and Article 33 paragraph 1.

In the preamble to the 1945 Constitution, the fourth paragraph states that among the goals of the establishment of the Indonesian state is to educate the nation's life.

Meanwhile, Article 33 paragraph 1 of the 1945 Constitution states that the Government shall endeavor to establish and organize a national education system, which increases faith and piety as well as noble morals in order to enlighten the life of the nation, which is regulated by law.

This is reinforced by the results of studies of several interpretations which state that fasting is part of the educational process in building noble characteristics

"Fasting is an opportunity to cleanse our souls, our spirits from despicable traits that drive us to vile acts that make us fall to the lowest level," explained the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education.
