The inspection, involving multiple agencies, focused on monitoring the availability and pricing of essential food items. At Bulu Market, observations revealed a surge in red chili pepper prices to IDR 85,000 per kilogram. Mulyana attributed this increase to the adverse effects of extreme hot weather, disrupting the normal chili farming cycle. "The extreme hot weather has disrupted the chili farming cycle, creating conditions where it's not yet time for harvesting. However, chilies must be harvested promptly to prevent them from rotting. On average, the national condition of chili prices remains elevated," he explained.
