Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has completed its second visit to support the transformation of football stadiums in Indonesia, focusing on improving security and safety standards.

The initiative to provide safer, more comfortable match-day experiences for fans occurred following the fatal Kanjuruhan incident in East Java on 1 October 2022.

"With FIFA’s support, we aim to ensure our stadiums meet international standards, allowing players, officials, and fans to enjoy football safely," said the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) President, Erick Thohir, on Thursday (18/12/2024)

The second stage of the study, conducted on 15 December 2024, covered 21 stadiums across 12 provinces, expanding from the initial eight stadiums visited in May 2024. Notable stadiums visited include Gelora Ratu Pamelingan, Pakansari, and Gelora Bandung Lautan Api.

The Ministry of Public Works has finished the renovation of the stadiums led by the Ministry after the FIFA-PSSI MoU signed during the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
