Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced on Friday (27/3/2026) that the ministry will crack down on internal "rogue elements" who allegedly re-engaged a previously terminated vendor for the Coretax tax system.
"It turns out there was misconduct within our ranks. A vendor we had fired for poor service was quietly brought back into the system," he revealed at the State Palace in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com
The Minister highlighted that while over 9 million Annual Tax Returns (SPT) have been successfully filed through Coretax, approximately 7 to 8 million remain outstanding.
He noted that the system's interface was intentionally complicated to benefit third-party application providers targeting large corporations. Consequently, the Ministry has officially extended the individual taxpayer filing deadline from 31 March 2026 to 30 April 2026.
Internal investigators are now working to identify the officials responsible for the unauthorized vendor contract, with the Minister promising firm disciplinary action to ensure the integrity of the national tax infrastructure.
