Inp.polri.go.id - Timika. Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Head of the Damai Cartenz 2024 Operation, said that the group responsible for recent killing New Zealand pilot Glen Malcolm Conning in Alama District, Mimika, Central Papua, comprised five people.
In a statement on Friday (9/8/2024), he revealed that witnesses identified the suspects as members of the armed criminal group (KKB) from Nduga, Papua Pegunungan. The group had been in the area for a week before the murder, according to antaranews.com.
"We have interviewed 10 witnesses who saw, heard, and observed the killing of Pilot Glen. Based on their accounts, we suspect the perpetrators are KKB members from Nduga," Chief Faizal said.
He noted that four of the attackers were armed with rifles and one with a machete. The suspects’ accents and language indicate they are likely from Nduga.
The Damai Cartenz 2024 Task Force and the Timika Sub-regional Police continued to advance the investigation and arrest the suspects.
