Inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. Jambi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rusdi Hartono and the 042 Gapu Military Commander Brigadier General Rachmad inspected the forest fire prevention post in Batang Asam District, Tanjab Barat, on Thursday (8/8/2024).

The inspection aimed to assess the post's condition and monitor hotspot distribution in the area.

"We conducted this check to ensure that the post and facilities for personnel are in good condition," said Chief Rusdi.

The police have been warning the public against land clearing by burning through Bhabinkamtibmas, Babinsa, and signage. Currently, the Jambi Police has named 8 suspects in forest fire cases, with 37 ongoing investigations.

The four cases revealed involve suspects from Tebo, Tanjung Jabung Barat, Batanghari, and Merangin, with a total burned area of 135.7 hectares across 37 locations.
