Inp.polri.go.id – Banyumas City Resort Police arrested five people suspected of spreading hoaxes calling for demonstrations against the Emergency PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) policy, Sunday (07/18/2021).
Five people who arrested are NP (25), FS (27), CH (46), SDR (34) and BSW (49). They are suspected of being the perpetrators of broadcasting fake news or notifications causing trouble in community.
Chief of Banyumas Resort Police, Police Grand Commissioner M, Firman Lukmanul Hakim, through the Head of Crimes Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Berry ST, said his party was conducting an investigation on Facebook account named GPZ.
The account circulated pamphlet calling for demonstration on Monday, July 19, 2021. The flyer was known to have circulated on Facebook group 'Around Cilongok'.
Couple days ago a pamphlet "The Banyumas Community Alliance with KBPPB (Banyumas Market Traders Family) Moves to Demand Justice Regarding PPKM!!! Monday, 19 July 2021. Banyumas Regent's Pendopo Fighting Point at 13.00 Until Demands Are Fulfilled!! People’s Welfare is State’s Responsibility!!!”, was circulated.
The poster called for Banyumas Community Alliance demonstration circulating on social media has been marked as hoax.
''After conducting investigation into the uploader's Facebook account named GPZ, it is found that the owner is N, resident of Kedungbanteng Subdistrict,'' he explained, Monday (07/19/2021).
When investigating NP, Head of Crimes Investigation Unit said N admitted that the writing was obtained through WhatsApp application from FS, a resident of Sumbang District.
According to Head of Crimes Investigation Unit, investigation temporary result from NP showed the person felt annoyed with Java Bali Emergency PPKM policy.
