Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police, Police Inspector General Fadil Imran, went straight to meet Padang restaurant owners collaborating with Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police to cook and distribute sacrificial meat in the form of rendang.
During the occasion, the Chief of Regional Police warmly converse with one of the merchants named Emmy, who sells in Blok M. During the conversation, Fadil was touched because Emmy feels helped economically from this collaboration. "So, during Emergency PPKM (Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement), you got a low turnover?" the Chief of Regional Police asked Emmy in her residence on Tuesday (20/7/21).
"Not only decreasing, sir but really decreasing. I cannot sell, no income at all", Emmy said.
"You cook here alone? If I have any meat, I'll ask you to cook it again, yes?" Fadil continues.
"I cook with my husband because it is still a small enterprise. It is okay, sir. Thank God, thank you. What kind of dream is this so I can meet you. Thank God it is a blessing", Emmy concludes.
Not only that, by watching the rendang's traditional making process and Emmy's effort to keep the Padang restaurant, the Chief of Regional Police said that this is a form of struggle during Emergency PPKM. "I then remember my relatives in the home village. Opening a Padang restaurant is such a struggle. Rendang is a symbol of settlers—a common struggle, helping another together. My feeling is mixed now, I am happy but also touched and proud", Chief of Regional Police said.
