Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have named five suspects in the arson of a police vehicle near Pondok Ranggon Public Cemetery in Depok, West Java, on 18 April 2025. 

The car was used by officers from the Depok Metropolitan Sub-regional Police during an operation to arrest a suspect.

“This was a coordinated attack to obstruct law enforcement,” said Senior Superintendent Wira Satya Triputra, the Director of General Crime at the Metro Jaya Police, on Monday (21/4/2025).

He explained that the suspects include RS, who blocked the gate and assaulted officers; GR, who set the car on fire; ASR, who obstructed police efforts; LA, who incited the crowd by shouting “burn it”; and LS, who damaged the vehicle.

The incident occurred at 2:30 am in Cimanggis when four police vehicles were stopped at a barricade. One police officer was forcibly removed from the vehicle after its window was smashed.

Police have also named four additional suspects as fugitives. Charges include incitement, assault, resisting arrest, violent theft, and destruction of property.
