Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Traffic congestion stretched from KM 13 to KM 8 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Tuesday (4/3/3035) as flooding in West Bekasi’s arterial roads disrupted vehicle flow at the West Bekasi toll exit.
The Chief of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps’ Cikampek Highway Patrol Unit, Assistant Senior Inspector Sandy Titah Nugraha, confirmed the gridlock began at 10 am and persisted past noon. Vehicles, including trucks and private cars, remained at a standstill upon exiting the toll.
“We urge motorists to follow officers’ instructions, as many insist on entering the toll road, exacerbating the congestion,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Authorities diverted traffic, directing vehicles from the West Bekasi exit to East Bekasi and rerouting others toward Jakarta.
Traffic officers worked to manage the buildup, but drivers attempting to force their way into the clogged routes added to the delays. Authorities advised travelers to avoid the West Bekasi exit unless necessary, warning that conditions would take time to ease.
