inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that food security is the main foundation for strengthening national resilience because food is related to the people's livelihoods and the stability of the nation as a whole.
"Food security is the heart of national security," said the Minister of Agriculture on Friday (7/25/2025).
According to him, food security is the main foundation of the state because if the food supply is disrupted, economic, social, and national security stability will be significantly impacted.
"If food is disrupted, the stability of the nation will also be disrupted," said the Minister of Agriculture.
He stated that food security is not just an economic issue, but concerns the nation's survival.
Andi warned that misreading food issues could lead to wrong policies and have a greater impact than corruption.
"As Bung Karno said, the life and death of a nation is determined by food. Misanalyzing food can have more fatal consequences than corruption," said Minister Andi.
The Minister of Agriculture also outlined the concrete commitment of President Prabowo Subianto's administration to strengthening the agricultural sector.
This was realized through the issuance of seven strategic presidential regulations, including those governing subsidized fertilizer, grain prices, and irrigation.
"Fertilizer distribution is now much simpler and more efficient. The bureaucratic chain that previously hampered farmers has now been cut down so that fertilizer can reach them directly," he explained.
The Minister of Agriculture stated that the results of a series of policies that support farmers have pushed national rice production to an all-time high.
"Our rice production has now reached a record high. This is not a coincidence, but the result of the government's commitment and concrete work towards farmers," he added.
He also invited all Lemhannas participants, who are future national leaders, to play an active role in strengthening Indonesia's food security.
