Inp.polri.go.id - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartanto states that ASEAN economic growth shows a promising progress in a decade with growth rate of 4%-5%. In the world stage ASEAN has become the region with the fifth largest economy and the fourth biggest exporter. Furthermore, ASEAN has also become the second biggest target of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). “Currently, our region has become one of the few lights for the economic growth,” says Airlangga. Report shows that the ASEAN economy growth rise up to 5.7% on 2022 due to domestic consumption, trade, and high investment. Industrial sectors such as electronic, electronic vehicle, and digital economy also shows promising growth last year with a total FDI up to 5.5%. Economical project in ASEAN also affected by global changes and dynamic thus requires an active role from public and private sector. Ahead of the Summit, there are two events that specifically highlight the collaboration of ASEAN public and private sector, the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit 2023 Plenary Session and ASEAN Business Advisory Council. The minister says that on that events, Indonesia pushed the cooperation of ASEAN not just in public sector but also in private. He says that the cooperation between the two sectors must be inclusive and collaborative in every ASEAN agenda and initiative.
