Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor former Indonesian Navy Marine Corps member Satria Arta Kumbara, who joined Russian volunteer forces.
“The Indonesian Embassy in Moscow,maintains surveillance of the person,” said Rolliansyah “Roy” Soemirat, the MInistry’s spokesperson, on Monday (21/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He confirmed ongoing communication with Satria.
The Indonesian Navy’s Chief of Information, First Admiral Tunggul, clarified that Satria is no longer a member of the Indonesian Military (TNI). The Navy will not respond to his requests to regain Indonesian citizenship.
On 14 May 2025, the Minister of Law and Human Rights confirmed Satria’s Indonesian citizenship was revoked following his participation in Russian military operations.
A viral video shows Satria appealing to the Indonesian government for citizenship reinstatement, claiming he was unaware that signing a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense would cost his Indonesian citizenship.
