Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Director of Indonesian Citizen Protector and Indonesia Legal Body of Foreign Ministry Judha Nugraha says evacuation process for seven Indonesian citizens from Gaza in still under control.
“The border of Rafah is limitedly already opened. The issue for now is that the location of where they live is still under attack which hinders our evacuation efforts,” says Judha quoted from Antara on Thursday (11/2/2023).
However, he did ensure the two families, who live in Gaza City and Gaza, is still safe and sound amidst the chaos at the region after Israel brutally bombarded the area since October 7th.
“Communications with them is still continuing and we received comforting news that they are safe,” says Judha.
He then says that the evacuation team from Indonesian Ambassador from Cairo is ready to welcome them in Rafah Border, which borders Egypt and Gaza, since Wednesday evening.
Currently, there are 10 Indonesian citizens in Gaza, three of them are MER-C volunteers in Indonesian Hospital, they are Fikri Rofiul Haq, Reza Aldilla Kurniawan, and Farid Zanzabil Al Ayubi.
The three refused to be evacuated and prefer to continue their humanitarian work in Gaza.
