Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In preparation for the start of the U-17 World Cup on Friday (10/11/2023), the Indonesian National Police (INP) has mobilized 13,251 personnel to ensure security during the tournament.
Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, the Head of the INP Publc Relations Division's Public Information Office, the police have prepared their security forces for the U-17 World Cup, antaranews.com reported.
"Thirteen thousand two hundred and fifty-one personnel will be deployed, including 415 from the National Police Headquarters and 12,836 from four regional police offices," he said on Sunday (5/11/2023)
He asserted that the four regional police offices involved are Jakarta Metro Police, West Java Police, East Java Police and Central Java Police.
Before the U-17 World Cup kicked off, the INP is scheduled to hold a joint security parade in these four regional police offices on 9 November in Surabaya.
The East Java Regional Police has been trained 350 specialised personnel to serve as stewards stationed outside the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya during the U-17 World Cup.
The tournament is scheduled to run from 10 November to 2 December 2023.
The grand opening ceremony of the U-17 World Cup will take place on 10 November at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium. The stadium will also serve as the home base for the Indonesian U-17 national team during the Group A qualifying rounds.
In addition to the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, three other stadiums have been selected to host U-17 World Cup matches: the Jakarta International Stadium in Jakarta, the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung and the Manahan Stadium in Solo.
