Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi announced on Friday (9/8/2024) that the government has been intensifying efforts to evacuate Indonesian citizens from Lebanon, following the country's designation as a Level 1 security alert.

The Ministry has declared Lebanon a Level 1 alert due to escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

"We have set Lebanon to Level 1 alert, and evacuation plans are underway," said Minister Retno, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The Ministry previously advised Indonesians to postpone travel to Lebanon, Iran, and Israel and urged those already in Lebanon to leave until security conditions improve. The Indonesian Embassy in Beirut also recommended that Indonesians consider departing Lebanon while commercial flights are still operational.

Other countries, including the United States, Canada, Poland, and Sweden, have similarly advised their citizens to leave Lebanon due to the heightened tensions.
