Forensic Laboratory Field of Central Java Regional Police secured several evidence found when examining the location of Geong Glass Bridge who was shattered last Wednesday (10/25/2023). The shattering of Geong Glass Bridge leaves a victim died and another having minor injuries. From the investigation at the location, police found a sponge as a vibration protector on glass. Police also secured broken glass from the glass bridge, as well as canal iron as the bridge's structural frame. “After this, we will carry out another investigation and we will report the case comprehensively to Banyumas Police,” says Head of Physics Sub-department of Central Java Forensic Laboratory, Commissioner Setiawan Widianto on Thursday (10/26/2023). According to him, the location and forensic laboratory examination was to found out the cause of the glass bridge shattering. He and his team will also inspect the specifications and standards for installing glass bridges. “For the mean time, we are only able to bring three samples. There would be more, even we have not completed today’s assignment,” he explains. For the record, the investigation of Geong Glass Bridge shattering was to find the proof of the cause. Investigators will find the evidence that will determine whether the incident was because of management negligence or just pure accident. (ad/ay/hn.nm)
