Jepara Sub-regional Police Drug Investigation arrest two men with the initials of AHB (49) and MAA (45), who were later found out to be the former inmates of Nusakambangan Penitentiary. AHB and MAA were arrested along with the evidence of five methamphetamine packages with a total weight of 511.28 grams and a small package of 1.60 gram. “On the arrest we have arrested a drug courier with the initials of AHB from Sidoarjo and MAA from Pasuruan,” says Jepara Police Chief, Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan during conference press at Jepara HQ on Thursday (10/26/2023). Police arrest the two suspects at Kuwasen Village, Jepara City Regency on Saturday (10/21/2023). During the arrest, police also found five packages of methamphetamine with each weighing around 100 grams and a small package weighing 1.60 grams It was later found that AHB and MAA are recidivist in a similar case who spent 7 years and 8.5 in Nusa Kambangan respectively. The two suspects received the illicit drugs from a person initialed PC in Jakarta. The drugs was meant to be smuggled and distributed throughout Jepara with both suspects received IDR 350 million as payment. For their criminal action, the two suspects are charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (1) Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of death penalty, life imprisonment or imprisonment for a minimum of 6 (six) years and a maximum of 20 (twenty) year.
