inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Forestry has taken a series of firm actions against perpetrators of forest fires. Ten corporations have been sealed and are under investigation, and two companies have been subject to administrative sanctions.
This action is being carried out through the Directorate General of Forestry Law Enforcement, which is committed to taking firm action against any party responsible for the recurring forest fires in various regions of Indonesia.
"As a concrete step, we have initiated law enforcement proceedings against a number of entities suspected of involvement. This step follows 1,689 firefighting operations in the field," said Director General of Forestry Law Enforcement, Dwi Januanto, as reported by RRI on Sunday (8/10/2025).
In addition to firefighting, various preventative measures have been implemented, including education and awareness campaigns, socialization of Land Clearing Without Burning, integrated patrols, and Weather Modification Operations.
Currently, the Ministry is also strengthening post-fire response, including identifying and calculating the extent of burned areas. This includes rehabilitation of burned areas and uncompromising law enforcement.

Meanwhile, eight non-corporate entities are also undergoing similar proceedings, and one non-corporate entity has entered the investigation stage. These sealing actions were carried out in various regions, including West Kalimantan, Riau, Jambi, South Sumatra, and Bangka Belitung.
According to law enforcement records, the distribution of cases by province includes seven cases in West Kalimantan, ten in Riau, one in Jambi, one in South Sumatra, and one in North Sumatra.
