Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Former National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Chief Liutenant General (ret.) Doni Monardo, passed away at Siloam Semanggi Hospital in Jakarta on Sunday afternoon (3/12/2023) due to unspecified illness, an official announced.
His remain will be buried at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in South Jakarta on M0nday, antaranews.com reported.
"The body will be taken to the Kopassus Headquarters tomorrow morning, and then buried at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery," Brigadier General (ret) Bambang Irianto from the Association of Retired Army Officials (PPAD) said.
Before the burial, he explained that General Doni's body would be brought to the family residence in BSD area in Tangerang from the Siloam Semanggi Hospital in Jakarta where he had been receiving medical treatment since September.
Doni, who served as the BNPB Chief since 2019, initiated the national Covid-19 Task Force in 2020. After retiring from BNPB, Doni was appointed as the president commissioner of state-owned PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum)
