Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Cyber and Cryptography Agency (BSSN) has submitted a report on the results of the investigation and digital forensics regarding the data leak from the General Election Commission (KPU) to the Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of INP's Criminal Investigation Agency and the KPU.
BSSN spokesperson Ariandi Putra announced on Saturday (2/11/23) that the agency has provided the initial findings of the investigation and digital forensics to the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the KPU to update them on the alleged KPU data leak incident.
The report, resulting from an in-depth analysis and digital forensics of both the application and server, aims to determine the root cause of the alleged incident. Ariandi emphasized that the report is expected to be promptly acted upon from a law enforcement perspective by Dittipidsiber.
"The Dittipidsiber will follow up on the report from the law enforcement side, and the KPU will address it as the organizer of the electronic system, each according to their respective authorities," he explained.
As previously reported, an anonymous hacker named "Jimbo" claimed to have successfully breached the KPU site and accessed voter data. Jimbo shared 500 thousand sample data on the BreachForums site, commonly used for selling hacking results, and verified the authenticity of the data with screenshots from the cekdptonline.kpu site.
The accessed data by "Jimbo" includes significant personal information, such as the National Identification Number (NIK), Family Card Number (KK), ID Card Number (including passport number for overseas voters), full name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, marital status, complete address, RT, RW, village code, sub-district, and district, as well as the polling station code (TPS).
