Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Karawang Sub-regional Police in West Java have arrested four men accused of fatally assaulting a 15-year-old boy with disabilities in Cilamaya Wetan District earlier this month.
“The assault that claimed the life of a disabled victim, identified as R, occurred at dawn on November 5,” Karawang Police Chief Superintendent Fiki Novian Ardiansyah said during a press briefing on Monday (17/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The suspects, identified as HW (37), EF (29), NK (42), and TF (31), allegedly joined a crowd that had gathered after residents saw the victim standing silently near a house. When attempts to communicate with the boy failed, suspicion escalated. Police said the four men beat the unresponsive teenager, accusing him of being a thief without any verification.
Victim R sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized in critical condition at Bayu Asih Regional Hospital in Purwakarta. He remained in a coma for seven days before being pronounced dead on 13 November 2025.
The four suspects have been charged under Indonesia’s Child Protection Law and face a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
