inp.polri.go.id - North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit has prepared a field kitchen to support the needs of residents affected by the activity of Mount Sinabung in Karo Regency, North Sumatra.

Five field kitchen trucks have been prepared and deployed to the post at SDN 040408 Sukandebi Elementary School, Naman Teran District, Karo Regency. All these facilities are on standby for immediate use when the community needs support, especially during the relief and evacuation process.

The Commander of the North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit, Senior Superintendent M. Rendra Salipu, stated that the field kitchen's readiness is part of their efforts to ensure that community needs can be met quickly.

"All facilities are prepared for immediate use if needed to support the community affected by the eruption of Mount Sinabung," Rendra said in a statement in Medan, Tuesday (8/1/2026).

According to Rendra, each vehicle has its own uses to support services to the community at the affected location.

The preparation of the field kitchen facilities was led by the Head of the Logistics and General Affairs Sub-Division of the North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit, First Police Inspector Mulyadi. All equipment was ensured to be ready for use should the situation require additional support.

"The presence of the field kitchen is part of our readiness to move quickly, ensuring support can be provided to those in need," he said.

Meanwhile, the Karo Regency Government has evacuated residents from two villages: Kuta Tengah Village, Simpang Empat District, and Payung Village, Payung District.

The evacuations were carried out after Mount Sinabung's alert status was raised from Level II to Level III on Monday (8/31/2026).

This policy was taken as a precautionary measure following increased volcanic activity and the expansion of Mount Sinabung's danger zone based on recommendations from the Geological Agency.
