Inp.polri.go.id - Sukoharjo. A collision between a car and the Batara Kresna train in Sukoharjo, Central Java, on Wednesday morning (26/3/2025) left four people dead and three others injured.
Sukoharjo Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Anggaito Hadi Prabowo confirmed that the accident occurred at the Sukoharjo City railway crossing when a Daihatsu Sigra carrying seven passengers was struck by the train traveling from Wonogiri to Sukoharjo.
The victims, identified as A (42), P (44), M (42), and N (12), were part of two families traveling home for Eid Al-Fitr. The three injured passengers are receiving treatment at RSUD Sukoharjo regional hospital, according to antaranews.com.
Preliminary investigations suggest the crossing gate operator failed to close the barrier in time, allowing the vehicle onto the tracks. The operator has been detained for further questioning.
Authorities have cleared the wreckage, and train operations have resumed. Police continue to investigate the incident, while the surviving family members are receiving support.
