Inp.polri.go.id - Wonosobo. The Wonosobo Sub-regional Police arrested on Monday (15/9/2025) a man accused of killing Army Sergeant Rahman Setiawan, 41, from Wonosobo Military Command in Central Java. 

The suspect, identified as Iwan, 35, was arrested in a hideout in Dusun Sumpit, Kepil District, after days on the run.

“Today the suspect of the fatal assault has been secured. The suspect will be processed according to the law. The motive is under investigation,” Wonosobo Police Chief Superintendent Kasim Akbar Bantilan said, as reported by antaranews.com.

The killing occurred Sunday night during a violent altercation at a restaurant in Sapuran District, where the soldier was fatally hacked. Police confirmed Iwan is a resident of Sedayu Village, Sapuran, Wonosobo.

The arrest triggered mass demonstrations at Wonosobo Police headquarters, where hundreds of residents demanded the harshest punishment, including the death penalty.
