Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. The Yogyakarta Regional Police estimated damages from late-August riots at nearly Rp 28 billion (around USD 1.7 million), after violent protests left multiple public service facilities destroyed at regional police headquarters.

“Total state-owned asset losses at the Yogyakarta Police, including buildings and equipment, reached around Rp28 billion,” Yogyakarta Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ihsan said Monday (15/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com

The riots on 29 and 30 August  2025 caused extensive damage to the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT), criminal records office (SKCK), ATM machines, and perimeter facilities. Protesters also set fire to two police vehicles inside the compound.

While services were briefly disrupted, Ihsan stressed that operations are returning to normal as repairs accelerate.

The Yogyakarta police pledged full restoration of public-facing facilities, framing the incident as momentum to reinforce security and service delivery in the region.
