Inp.polri.go.id - Cianjur. Authorities have extended the closure of Gede-Pangrango National Park until 21 April 2025 following increased volcanic tremors on Mount Gede, raising concerns of potential phreatic eruptions and gas emissions.

“Based on geological updates, we’re extending the closure from 14 to 21 April 2025 to ensure visitor safety,” said Park Head Adhi Nurul Hadi on Sunday (13/4/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Online registrants can request a reschedule or refund. Refunds may take up to 35 working days due to administrative procedures.

To prevent illegal climbs, patrols are being intensified, and stern action will be taken against violators, according to antaranews.com.

Park spokesperson Agus Deni added that hikers will receive a link to apply for date changes or refunds within three days of receiving it. Rescheduling will be processed within 18 working days.

The closure follows an advisory from the Geological Agency and Energy Ministry regarding increased volcanic activity since early April.
