Inp.polri.go.id - Gorontalo. The Gorontalo Immigration Office has deported five Chinese workers for engaging in unauthorized activities at a gold mining site in Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo.

The men, identified by their initials AL, YY, XW, PH, and HZ, were deported after a field inspection on 12 May 2025. The operation followed reports from the community, the media, and the Regional Foreigners Supervision Team (TIMPORA).

Head of the Gorontalo Immigration Office, Gelora Adil Ginting, said on Wednesday (21/5/2025) that the deportation was an administrative immigration sanction imposed in line with Indonesian immigration laws.

“Based on our inspection, all five foreign citizens entered Indonesia legally through Sam Ratulangi International Airport in Manado with valid passports and C2 index visas sponsored by PT Guanhuat Sukses Abadi,” he explained, as quoted by antaranews.com.

However, they were found to be conducting activities in an illegal gold mining area (PETI) without proper permits.

Throughout the investigation, they cooperated with authorities and did not resist immigration enforcement. The case was handled under Law No. 6/2011 on Immigration and the Ministerial Regulation No. 2/2025 on Immigration Supervision and Administrative Actions.
