Inspector General Angesta Romano Yoyol, the Chief of the Gorontalo Regional Police, declared the preparations to secure the 2024 Elections' campaign period during a Local Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopmimda) meeting on Monday (22/1/2024). The meeting, attended by the Acting Governor of Gorontalo, the Military Area Commander, and other Forkopimda members, discused the 6-day campaign period granted to each pair of candidate in Gorontalo. "The campaign schedule in Gorontalo extends until 7 February 2024. Local campaigns necessitate permits from the Gorontalo Regional Police, while Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates require notifications directly from the INP Headquarters," he explained. Chief Yoyol emphasized the prepared security mechanism, involving personnel from the Gorontalo Regional Police and its subordinates, especially for events attended by Presidential/Vice Presidential candidates and their central campaign teams.
