Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Ministry of Communication and Information has refuted claims that the government hired a rain shaman to clear weather for the Independence Day celebration in the new capital, Ibu Kota  Nusantara (IKN)>

Director General of Public Information and Communication Usman Kansong clarified  on Sunday (11/8/2024) that the government is utilizing weather modification technology to prevent rain over the IKN Nusantara area for the 79th Independence Day festivities. 

He emphasized that the weather modification is conducted using scientific methods and technology, not by traditional rain-shamans, according to antaranews com..

Usman urged the public to disregard misinformation circulating on social media. He explained that recent high rainfall in the IKN Nusantara region necessitated weather engineering, facilitated by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

Usman also assured that the event location is being prepared to avoid water logging or puddles in case of rain.
