Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Secretary of Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso says that government will extend the El Nino Direct Cash Aid (BLT) to 2024 second quarter. He said that the extension has been informed by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and have been approved by the President Joko Widodo in Plenary Cabinet Session on Tuesday (1/9/2024). Sesmenko adds that the program probably will change its name following the decision. Regarding the technicality of the program, government will further discuss it in Technical Coordination Meeting. Since November-December 2023, government have provided rice aid and El Nino BLT across Indonesia with a total fund of IDR 7.52 trillion. The program targets 18.8 million families who each of them will receive IDR 400,000 per month. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
