General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, called on interfaith leaders to serve as a "cooling system" to mitigate political tensions in the lead-up to the 2024 elections during the 2023 Christmas Celebration at the INP  Headquarters Auditorium  on Thursday (11/1/2024). Addressing religious leaders and congregants present at the event, he emphasized the importance of maintaining unity amid diverse opinions and choices. "Cooling system, I entrust this to all of you who come from various religious backgrounds. It is crucial to convey this to our congregants. I urge our congregants to continue preserving unity amidst differing opinions,"Chief Sigit said in his address. He asserted the importance of maintaining stability in security and public order to uphold and enhance the achievements made by the nation's leaders. Chief Sigit reminded his subordinates of the challenging nature of their duty. However, with the available resources and spirit, he expressed confidence in their ability to preserve diversity, as exemplified by the Christmas celebration. "Believe that with the resources we have, combined with our spirit to preserve diversity, including in this Christmas celebration, we can continue to uphold tolerance to preserve diversity," he said.
