inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi emphasized that the government's target is to eradicate thuggery, not mass organizations.

Hasan Nasbi explained that currently, one of the things that disrupts business actors from doing business and investing is thuggery practices, either carried out by certain groups of individuals or mass organizations.

"What the government wants to overcome and eliminate is thuggery, whether it is individual or organized, that is what the government wants to eliminate, and today the government is forming a special team to overcome this (thuggery)," said Hasan Nasbi, quoted by Antaranews, Jakarta, Saturday (5/18/2025).

Hasan said that thuggery is a concern for the government because it has hampered investment and disrupted the business world.

"Investors are afraid to come to us. People who want to do business are afraid to do business with us because there are additional costs, there are additional burdens due to thuggery," said Hasan.

Hasan further noted that the government's work to eradicate thuggery also takes time, which means that thuggery does not disappear instantly when the perpetrators are prosecuted by the authorities. 

Lastly, Hasan also explained that the government needs to find a way so that the thugs do not repeat their actions, but can divert their time and abilities to productive things.
