inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Around 13,000 pecalang members in Bali held a declaration rejecting the presence of thugs disguised as community organizations or mass organizations on Bali.

The Head of the Bali Traditional Village Council, Ida Penglingsir Agung Putra Sukahet, said that the pecalang declaration began with the looming presence of mass organizations from outside Bali which were rejected by all pecalang associations of traditional villages.

"Lately, there has been a rejection of thugs disguised as mass organizations. The rejection are quite massive and sporadic. Many of them declare their rejection. So, on the initiative of the Pasikian Pecalang Bali, they united their stance," he said during the declaration at the Niti Mandala Renon Field, Denpasar, Saturday (5/17/2025).

He emphasized that Bali does not need mass organizations that pretend to want to protect Bali. Niti says that Bali has pecalang, and pecalang have become the vanguard in protecting Bali's customs, culture, traditions, and local wisdom.

"Since ancient times, pecalang has guarded Bali, nindihin gumi Bali. Balinese Pecalang reject criminalism, thuggery and anarchic attitudes carried out by thugs in the guise of mass organizations and under the guise of mass organizations," he said.

In the declaration, there are three main points conveyed, namely rejecting the presence of mass organizations that pretend to maintain security, order and social with acts of thuggery, violence and intimidation of the community so as to cause unrest and tension among the Balinese people.

This declaration is a response to the phenomenon of the looming presence of mass organizations Bali which has caused the pecalang in traditional villages to flock to make videos of rejection.
