inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology issued Regulation Number 46 of 2023 concerning the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Educational Unit Environments (PPKSP) in order to create a safe, comfortable, and inclusive educational environment for students.

The Secretary General of the Ministry, Suharti, explains that one of the crucial aspects of the new regulation is the formation Violence Prevention and Handling Team (TPPK) in each educational unit and the PPKSP Task Force at the provincial and district/city levels.

Since the launch of the new regulation on August 8th, 2023 to October 10th, 2024, it was recorded that 404,956 educational units (93.71 percent) had formed TPPK. In addition, at the regional level, 27 provincial task forces (71.05 percent) and 441 district/city task forces (85.79 percent) have been formed.

Suharti says the formation of the PPKSP Task Force by the regional government and the PPKSP Team by educational units is to ensure a rapid response in handling violence that may occur.

Since 2023, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology has involved national facilitators and regional facilitators from various backgrounds to conduct training using the violence prevention and handling module.

Furthermore, in 2024, the Ministry also increased the capacity of the violence handling module in the education unit environment for the Task Force and TPPK representatives from all regions in Indonesia.

As a step to create a safe educational environment, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology provides a complaint channel through kemdikbud.lapor.go.id. This channel allows students, parents, and the community to report acts of violence that occur in schools.

The Ministry has also provided the PPKSP Portal to provide various educational content, including violence prevention videos and posters, which can be used in classroom learning.

Finally, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, together with UNICEF, held an anti-bullying program "Roots" which has been implemented since 2021. The program, which targets teachers and students of junior high, high school, and vocational high schools, provides skills to identify, prevent, and handle violence in educational environments.
