Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has deployed SATRIA-1 satellite emergency internet services to restore connectivity across disaster-hit areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra after flash floods and landslides disrupted conventional networks.
Ten SATRIA-1 access points have been activated to support emergency communication for residents and response teams.
“When communication networks collapse, SATRIA-1 becomes a lifeline so people can stay connected during critical moments,” Communication Minister Meutya Hafid said on Sunday (30/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The ministry have mobilized equipment to all designated sites. The SATRIA-1 service, designed for remote and hard-to-reach regions, enables authorities to coordinate evacuations, verify information, and accelerate humanitarian response.
Emergency internet points have been installed at Pinangsori Airport and SMAN 1 Plus Matauli high school in Central Tapanuli; five key locations in Aceh including Lhokseumawe, Langsa, North Aceh, Central Aceh, East Aceh, and Aceh Tamiang; and two sites in West Sumatra, including Agam and Padang.
