Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Haj and Umrah is closely monitoring 58,873 Indonesian pilgrims currently in Saudi Arabia following regional security escalations that have disrupted international flights.
"We urge all Umrah pilgrims not to panic, remain calm, and continue coordinating with their respective travel agencies for official updates," Director General Puji Raharjo said, as quoted by antaranews.co..
He confirmed on Sunday (1/3/2026) that intensive coordination with Indonesian representatives in Riyadh and Jeddah is underway to ensure pilgrim safety. While some airlines have altered routes or delayed schedules as a precautionary measure, officials emphasized that the situation for pilgrims remains under control.
The ministry has instructed relevant travel agencies to communicate with the Consulate General in Jeddah to address any sudden operational changes.
