inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital is providing 8,000 free Canva Pro accounts to creative talents and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as part of its efforts to strengthen the national digital economy.

The provision of these accounts is part of the Ministry of Communication and Digital collaboration with Canva, which was marked by the "Canva Hangout feat Komdigi: Making Digital Ideas More Real" event at the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub, Central Jakarta, Friday (2/6/2026).

Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid stated that this collaboration is the first step that will continue to be expanded so that more individuals and communities can get involved and experience its benefits.

"I congratulate you on the collaboration we are implementing today. This is just the first step and we will continue to expand it," said the Minister.

She commended Canva's global achievement, which recorded the creation of approximately one billion new designs throughout 2025. Meutya hopes that Indonesian creators can further contribute to this achievement.

Meutya also stated that the creative economy sector currently contributes around 7–8 percent to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with a contribution value of around IDR 1,600 trillion per year and employing more than 50 million workers.

Furthermore, the value of Indonesia's digital economy is recorded at US$90 billion in 2024 and is projected to increase to US$360 billion by 2030. This growth is driven by the e-commerce sector, digital financial services, app-based transportation, and the increasing adoption of digital technology by MSMEs, which contribute around 60 percent to the national GDP.

According to her, digital design and content are now primary needs for MSMEs in designing, marketing, and selling products. Therefore, the collaboration with Canva is expected to strengthen the capacity of Indonesian design creators and encourage the growth of digital-based MSMEs.
