inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom) announced that the government has allocated a budget of IDR 4.14 trillion for the National Internship Program Batch 2, which supports job creation for recent university graduates.
"The National Internship Program Batch 2 in 2026 is part of the government's eight economic stimulus policy programs aimed at maintaining the stability and momentum of national economic growth. To support this program, the government has allocated a budget of IDR 4.14 trillion," said Fahd Pahdepie, Deputy I for Strategy and Communication Systems at Bakom RI, in a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/12/2026).
The first batch of the National Internship Program Batch 2 began on August 10, 2026, with 46,160 participants from across Indonesia. The participants underwent six-month internships at various private companies and ministries/institutions.
He said the large number of participants demonstrated the enthusiasm of the public and recent graduates for the government-designed program.
In Batch 1 of the second batch, 3,672 job providers participated, comprising 1,830 companies and 1,842 ministries/institutions. These job providers opened 28,455 internship vacancies, with a total of 54,304 participant quotas: 31,251 company quotas and 23,053 ministry/institution quotas.
Overall, 732,483 applicants were registered, with 244,982 applicants deemed eligible. Of these, 226,719 prospective participants submitted more than 547,000 applications for various internship vacancies.
After national-level verification and selection, 46,160 participants were declared successful and selected for Batch 1 of the second batch, while 242 prospective participants were not selected due to not meeting the requirements during the final verification.
"The high number of applicants for batch 1 demonstrates the significant need for young graduates to gain work experience, improve their competencies, and demonstrate their abilities in the professional world. Thus, the National Internship Program should not stop at placement, but rather serve as a tangible bridge to better jobs and careers," explained Fahd.
The program's success can also be seen in the National Internship Program Batch 1, which recorded 102,000 university graduates participating, with 95 percent successfully completing the program.
He explained that 66 percent experienced significant improvements in competency, ranging from communication and technical skills to teamwork.
Furthermore, 26 percent of interns received direct job offers after the program concluded.
