Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Presidential Communication Office (PCO) has been transformed into the Government Communication Agency (BKP), State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced on Wednesday (17/9/2025). 

He said that the change is not the creation of a new institution but a structural transformation.

“This is not about forming a new body but transforming the Presidential Communication Office into the Government Communication Agency,” State Secretary Prasetyo said after a swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Palace, as reported by antaranews.com.

The move involved a leadership change from Hasan Nasbi to Angga Raka Prabowo and aimed to expand the scope of government communications. Unlike the PCO, which focused on the presidency, the BKP will synchronize messaging across central, provincial, and local governments.

The State Secretary added that the agency inherits the functions, staff, and responsibilities of the PCO, while expecting improved performance in delivering public information. He compared the shift to “changing players in a game” to enhance the team’s effectiveness.
